After departing from AboutFace in 2022, Hartsfield met up with her close friend, Jessica Hall, where they talked about a pressing concern for Jessica: the protection of her three children, ages 17 to 23. In their discussions, they identified five critical documents necessary for teens to be safe as they turn 18. When realizing how few parents understood the harm that can come when families don't have these documents. Now it is their mission to get the word out to parents.

Inspired by the success of companies like LegalZoom and Hello Prenup, Hartsfield launched Nearly18, a technology platform aimed at empowering young individuals with essential tools for their financial and personal security as they step into adulthood.
